Melemang dance

 
Melemang dance is said to have existed since the time of the kingdom Bentan. This means that the dance has been known since the 12th century. That said, at that time, melemang not include consumption of folk dance, but dance palace. The dancers were not ordinary people, but the ladies who come from around the palace, including the so-called Tanjungpisau acacia. This dance is presented when the King was resting.
Any staging of the dancers demonstrate their skills by taking something (handkerchiefs, coins, etc.) by melemang (standing membongkokkan body toward the rear). Therefore, this dance is called melemang. In Tanjungpisau dance is better known as Dance Melemang Melemang acacia or shittim Bintan.
In accordance with the purpose which is nothing but entertain the king, the art which combines elements of dance, music and singing tells about the life of a king in a kingdom. Therefore, there is a role as king, empress, princess, lady's maid and so forth.
